1980 –1988 senior resident in anaesthesiology and pain treatment at Copenhagen hospitals;
1988-1994 chief of cardiothoracic anaesthesia Rigshospitalet Copenhagen University Hospital; visiting anaesthesiologist at heart clinics in Sweden and Norway;
1994- Chief of Orthopaedic anaesthesia and trauma care, Director of hyperbaric medicine Rigshospitalet Copenhagen University Hospital;
